The Digital Gateway

Digital Gateway is a digital interactive installation in a 110 ft. long passageway at Robson Square, part of the 2010 Commerce Centre which hosts VIP and corporate visitors during the 2010 Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games. Seventeen animated, illustrated vignettes tell the stories of business innovation and success in the Western provinces’ various economic sectors, from transportation, tourism, and marine industries to aerospace, renewable energy, and life sciences.

Powered by people, the animated stories are triggered by visitors’ movements as they walk along the corridor. Illustrations appear and morph, and ‘digital energy lines’ advance and recede, depending on the number of people moving down the passageway.

Part of my job on this project was to bring this digital experience on paper to give the visitors a take away to remember what they just have seen and read more in depth about the different sectors.

The brochure can be read from both sides, depending whether you are more interested in the facts about the sectors or whether you just want to read about the illustrations and what they meant.
